What is the Student Pantry?

Modified on Mon, 19 Aug at 1:37 PM

At York SU we understand that students often feel left behind when it comes to support offered to combat the Cost of Living Crisis. We have developed several resources and initiatives to support students including our Fruit and Root bags scheme and our brand new Student Pantry.

The Student Pantry is designed to provide students with access to free, non-food items for them to take whenever they are in need. We ask that students are considerate of other users when taking from the Student Pantry and only take what they need for the week ahead.

Based in the York SU building and open Monday-Friday 10-4pm (during semester time), the pantry includes items like cleaning products, baby formula and stationery.

We know that in the grand scheme of things, this will only support a small number of students, but we hope that it will make a difference to those in need.
