How do I become an Officer?

Modified on Mon, 19 Aug at 11:12 AM

Sabbatical Officers are elected in the Spring term. This is when you can nominate yourself to become a candidate for a particular position. You will then campaign to win the votes of your fellow students and hopefully gain the most support. Being a candidate is a fantastic opportunity to gain new skills and create new connections. The Officer Elections are one of our flagship activities at York SU, so you are sure to hear all about it across campus and online. If you have any questions about elections you can contact [email protected] all year round.

The Students’ Union is here to ensure that every single student at York feels like their voice is heard meaning you collectively decide who is going to represent your interests and improve the lives of students where it matters most. We are always searching for students who are passionate about making positive change; whether it’s tackling the cost of living, fighting for a more inclusive campus or ensuring that students have the best possible academic experience at University.

If you care about your University and the students in it, it’s time to make a difference.

You can get in touch with [email protected] if you have any questions.
